The traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, has commended the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority for issuing authority to the Anambra state government to open the Anambra state International Cargo and Passengers Airport for commercial operations with effect from 2nd December 2021.
In a press statement at Umuawulu, Igwe Egwuonwu noted with joy that the development would ease movement of Anambra travellers who patronize other airports.
He congratulated Governor Willie Obiano for his resilience in actualizing the feat.
The royal father also used the opportunity to congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo for securing victory at the federal High Court Abuja on his qualification and victory in the recently concluded November 6th election.
The court dismissed the suit filed by one Adindu Valentine and Egwudike Chukwuebuka seeking Professor Soludo’ s disqualification in the election on the allegation that he presented false information in form EC9 to INEC during the registration.
He advised the litigants to accept the outcome of the election and join hands with Professor Soludo to move Anambra state to greater heights.
He also urged the governor- elect to run an all inclusive government and show that Anambra state is truly the light of the nation.
Also speaking on the Anambra election, a front line politician and industrialist from Achina in Aguata Council Area, Chief Joseph Nwakpadolu, commended INEC for using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machine to drive the electoral process and suggested that the failure recorded in using the device be corrected for use in future elections.
Chief Nwakpadolu in a special way commended the immediate past APGA national chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, his successor Dr. Victor Ike Oye, and the Anambra electorate for ensuring the success of the election.
