Two Reverend Sisters Kidnapped In Anambra, As Police Launch Manhunt For Abductors, Rescue Of Victims
Two Reverend Sisters were reportedly kidnapped in Anambra on Tuesday, 7th January, 2025.
The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, who made the announcement in a release, said Sister Vincentia Maria is the Principal of Archbishop Charles Heerey Memorial Model Secondary School, Ufuma, while Sister Grace Mariette Okoli, is a teacher at Immaculata Girls Model Secondary School, Nnewi.
According to the release, the incident happened along Ufuma Road, in Orumba North LGA as they. were returning from a vocational meeting in Ogboji.
The congregation expressed deep concern over their safety and appealed to all to pray for their swift and unconditional release.
Meanwhile, Anambra State Police Command says Police-led Joint Operation is already ongoing for the possible rescue of the two Catholic Nuns allegedly kidnapped along Ufuma Road, Orumba LGA.
A statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, informed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations have visited the scene of the incident for a spot assessment.
According to the statement, the Command is already working with some clues for the possible arrest of the suspects and rescue of the victims.
