VP Osinbajo successfully undergoes leg surgery in Lagos hospital

A medical procedure which was carried out on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, by
doctors in Lagos state has been described as successful.

According to report, Osinbajo, on Saturday had a surgical operation on his leg due to a persistent pain possibly caused by an injury he had previously sustained.

Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, in a statement on Saturday night , titled: ‘Successful Medical Treatment Of The Vice President,‘ signed by the Medical Director, Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, Dr. Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi, and made available to newsmen by the Presidential Spokesman stated that Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, was admitted to the Duchess International Hospital GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, on account of a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone), possibly related to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash.

He had a surgical operation performed by a team of specialist doctors, including Dr. Wallace Ogufere (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Om Lahoti (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); Dr. Babajide Lawson (Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon); and other doctors.

The statement read that the operation was successful, and he is expected to be discharged within the next few days,

Meanwhile, President Buhari has also wished the Vice President quick recovery after his surgery.
