Well Meaning Citizens List Their Expectations As Nigeria Prepares To Celebrate 62nd Anniversary
As Nigeria prepares to celebrate her 62nd Independence anniversary, a former Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Anambra state chapter, Barr. Emmanuel Okechukwu Junior, has called for Justice, equity and fairness in the administration of the country.
Barr.Okechukwu Junior, in a statement, noted that for the nation to shift from its static non-forward movement, the Igbos must be given their due recognition either by respecting the zoning arrangement which favours the Igbos to produce the next President of Nigeria or recognizing Biafra.
He called on Great Britain under the kingship of King Charles to do the needful by giving Nigeria a worthy independent gift based on facilitating the emergence of Igbo President in 2023.
On his part, a former Awka Zonal Chairman of the Nigerian bmefical Association, Dr. Oliver Onwughalu, regretted that Nigeria has failed to offer adequate democracy dividends to its citizens.
Dr.Onwughalu called on Nigerians to right the nation’s wrongs by voting enmasse for credible candidates in the 2023 general elections.
In another statement, the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, has bemoaned the nation’s growth, but argued that if the right things are done, the nation may still bounce back to prominence.
The royal father expressed optimism that the government of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo would impact more positively on the lives of the citizenry.
