The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has clarified that it did not agree to participate in the two-week warning strike initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). TUC President Festus Osifo explained that the protocol for a strike involves coordination and strategy discussions between unions. However, TUC was never contacted or involved in such discussions before the strike was announced.
Osifo said that after examining the situation, TUC concluded that there was no time for them to go on strike, as there was no prior agreement or plan in place with the NLC.
