Women journalists enjoined to ensure they comply with COVID-19 protocols

Nigerian Association Of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Anambra State Chapter, has enjoined Women to ensure they observe Covid-19 Protocols during the Yuletide

A release signed by the State Chairperson, Comrade Franklin Onyekachi and the Secretary, Comrade Uche Nworah, noted that Christmas season is a period of joy, love, peace, celebration, and lots of funfair.

The release also noted that it is also a period that witnesses influx of people from various parts of the country and the world at large into Anambra state as people come home to reunite with family members or to take part in diverse community celebrations.

It reminded them that a second wave of Corona Virus has been reported in many parts of the world, Nigeria inclusive, stressing the need for women, as keepers of the home, to ensure that they and their family members adhere to all stipulated measures aimed at preventing the spread of Coronavirus.

Such measures, according to the release, include wearing of face masks, regular hand washing under running water, use of hand sanitizers, and covering of the mouth with the elbows while coughing.

Anambra NAWOJ cautioned that the measures should be adhered to more strictly by women journalists because they interact with all kinds of people in the course of their work.

According to the release, Safety should be their watchword because they need to be healthy and alive to practice their profession.

NAWOJ Anambra also commended the Anambra state government for always having the interest of workers at heart, and wished Ndi Anambra a Merry Christmas.
