An accident that took the lives of two persons was recorded on the 25th of December by Curtis Filling Station along Nteje-Awka road in Anambra state.
Eleven persons comprising four male adults, four female adults and three female children were said to be involved in the crash and eight persons sustained varying degrees of injury.
According to eyewitness account, the cause of the accident was due to road obstruction. The eyewitness said a Daf truck developed fault in the early hours of Saturday, stating that while repairing the vehicle, the Toyota Hiace bus collided with the parked truck and crashed.
The Acting Public Education Officer for Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, Margaret Onabe, confirming the incident in a statement said that
the FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje Unit Command took the victims to Chira Hospital Awkuzu where one male adult and one female child were confirmed dead, while others are receiving treatment.
The Sector Commander Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, has commiserated with the family of the dead victims, and sent his prayers to the injured persons.
Onabe noted that the sector commander warned motorists to concentrate on driving, observe the environment, give enough distance and ensure that their headlamps and brake lights were functional.
