Some youths of Apa, Benue State have raised an alarm that despite operatives of the Nigerian Army being posted to the area, killer herdsmen are still ravaging the local government.
A series of attacks in which suspected herdsmen recently murdered about 100 people in Apa, prompted a mass protest by youths of the area who blocked the Oweto-Loko/Abuja expressway.
Speaking to newsmen, a youth leader in the area, Ahmed Ocheje called on the Commandants of the NASME Barracks and 72nd Special Forces Battalion Makurdi to be aware of what is happening in their area.
Ocheje, who is from Ikobi community, said that they have been under attack since the 2nd of January and nobody from that community can reside in these places. He said that more communities in Ikobi, namely, Okpa, Olopka, Ijaha, Igbobi, Imana, and Akpete have been deserted and wondered why the government is failing to protect its citizens.
