
Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Sector Command, said ten People yesterday, got injured in a lone serious crash involving a blue Mitsubishi L300 bus with registration number, XV 31 EP.
According to the State Sector Public Education Officer, SRC Florence Edor, the road crash occurred opposite Government House, at Agu Akwa, along Awka- Enugu express way.
Eyewitnesses report indicated that the fatigued driver who was speeding exessively, loss control and crashed into the road side drainage.
The report informed that a total of nineteen persons, three Male adults, four female adults, four male children and eight female children.
The Sector Public Education Officer also disclosed that ten people, three male adults, four female adults and three female children who sustained varying degree of injuries were rushed to Amaku Teaching Hospital, Awka, by FRSC rescue team.
Reacting to the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, CC Andrew Kumapayi, who thanked God that no life was lost, wished the injured victims quick recovery.
He admonished motorists to desist from excessive speeding and abide by stipulated speed limits in built-up areas.
He further cautioned drivers to endeavor to take at least 15 minutes rest after
every four hours of drive to get over fatigue as road traffic Crashes are avoidable.
