2023 General Election: INEC Creates Additional Twenty Five Registration Centres in Anambra

The Independent Electoral Commission INEC has created additional twenty five Voters Registration Centres across Anambra State to address the Surge at the various registration Centres
The new l centers bring the total number of active registration centres in the state to eighty seven.
This was disclosed by the Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, during a press briefing at the INEC Headquarters, Awka, .
He pointed out that the new additional centres have commenced operations, adding that they also have sufficient staff to man the facilities
Furthermore, Dr Orji informed that they have strategically improved operational procedures for speedy services and added that the commission has separated people seeking biometric services from those that require non biometric, hence those requesting for non biometric need not to come to registration centres
He also revealed that Inec has extended its operational time from 9am to 9pm daily, to ensure they meet the required target
Speaking on the alleged misconduct of some INEC staff, Dr Orji said the commission is handling the matter internally, assuring that they will not hesitate to punish any erring staff.
The state INEC bose promised that the Commission would continue to live up to the confidence reposed in them, and appealed for patience, understanding and cooperation.
At the entrance of the INEC office, people who had earlier registered were seen in their numbers struggling to get their Voter’s Cards.
