29 persons involved in road crash in Anambra

The FRSC Anambra State command has reported a multiple serious Road Traffic Crash which happened at Abba after UKPO Police station on the 8th February, 2021 at about 12: 25hrs.

The crash was between Mr Stephen Nzegwu driving an Innoson Pick up owned by Anambra Vigilante Services with vehicle registration number 02E-678AN and Mr Ifeanyi Ezim driving 608 Coaster bus owned by Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka with registration number AE 478 ABS.

Eyewitness report shows that the crash was as a result of Speeding and wrongful overtaking.
Twenty nine (29) persons were involved in the Crash, (20 male adults and 9 female adults).
One (1) female adult sustained injury and was taken to UKPO General hospital by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command for treatment.

The Sector Commander Anambra State CC Andrew A Kumapayi FHNR praying for the injured person’s quick recovery, admonished motorists to avoid Overtaking where and when it’s not safe.
He also warn against speeding, adding that speed trills but kills. He also warned that It’s dangerous to Speed in built up areas, for it can lead to serious road traffic crash posting that only Recommended speed limit of 50km/hr should be applied in built up areas.
