Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a 42-year-old man, Victor Okoh, in connection with the gruesome murder of his 38-year-old wife, Victoria Okoh, at their residence in Oron Local Government Area of state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, confirmed the arrest in a statement in Uyo on Monday.
John said the arrest was made following a distress call by concerned residents of the area.
The police boss stated that the operatives stormed the building at about 5am and arrested the suspect who was hiding under the ceiling to evade arrest.
He added that further investigation revealed that he matcheted the deceased over allegations of infidelity
The Command’s spokesperson said the body of the deceased has been disposited at the general hospital’s morgue in Oron LGA, for autopsy while an investigation is still ongoing.
