Most people are yet to come to terms that they can start collecting 500 and 1000 naira notes from customers.

Our correspondent who monitored the situation in Eke Awka market and environs on Tuesday, reported that only a few people, especially market women , collected the 500 and 1000 old notes from people as uncertainty still hangs in the air, despite CBN’s recent statement.

Recall that in a statement made available on Monday night , the Central Bank of Nigeria stated that following the Supreme Court ruling, the 500 and 1000 old naira notes remain legal tender till 31st December, 2023 and will coexist alongside the re-designed naira notes.
