Meanwhile, discussions continue between the government and labour unions regarding the new minimum wage, which expired on April 18th.
In other news, former TUC president Peter Esele warns against the unilateral announcement of a new minimum wage by the government, urging both parties to reach a consensus to avoid potential protests and strikes.
Reacting to the ongoing negotiations, the Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria assures that the private sector will comply with any agreement reached regarding the new minimum wage.
Additionally, the NLC reiterates its call for the creation of state and local government police to enhance security across the nation.
