The imposition of various restrictions by the European Union (EU) and America’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been fingered as some of the major reasons African airlines especially Nigerian carriers don’t operate in Europe and America .
In an interview with Nairametrics, former Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority Captain Abdullahi Sidi said that the EU imposed Third Country Operators permits on African carriers, which creates bottlenecks for airlines from Africa to operate in the European market .
He also stated that the FAA carries out audit of the NCAA which limits the expansion of Nigerian airlines to Europe and America.
He also mentioned economic reasons as European airlines don’t want any Nigerians Airline to fly to Europe.
