The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Chukwuma Soludo to address the high costs of textbooks, school uniforms, and mandatory extramural classes.
This decision, led by Deputy Majority Leader Sir Ikenna Ofodeme, aims to alleviate financial burdens on parents, particularly those with multiple children.
Ofodeme criticized current practices that force families to buy new textbooks for each child, deepening educational inequality. The resolution received unanimous support from lawmakers, highlighting a commitment to making education more affordable and accessible in line with Sustainable Development Goals.
