Anambra Fatal Crash Claims Two Lives, Injures Two Others

Two persons lost their lives while two others were seriously injured in a fatal accident along Awka-Enugu expressway in Ukpo, Anambra state.

The crash which occurred near Zone 13 police station involved a salon car and Honda Pilot with four persons on board.

An eye witness said the driver of the Honda drove against traffic and rammed into the Toyota on a single carriage way.

Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adeoye Irelewuyi confirmed the incident, attributing the crash to Route Violation.

He sympathized with the deceased families and wished the injured victims quick recovery.

He urged the motoring public to desist from route violations.

He said, “A fatal Crash occurred at Ukpo around zone 13 police station by Awka-Enu Express way today 30th October, 2021 at about 12:40hours.

The crash involved two vehicles, a green salon car with Reg no: EDA 314 AE and red Honda Pilot with Reg no: FGG 78 KJ

“Item recovered include ATM card, 3 bags, 3 phones, N14,450. The probable cause of the fatal crash was Route Violation.

4 people comprising 3male adults, 1 female adult were involved in the crash.
No injured 2 (1male adult, 1 female adult). No killed: 2 male adults.

“The victims were first attended to by good Samaritans before FRSC rescue team arrived the scene and continue the rescue operation.

“Two male adults were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty at Amaku hospital and the dead bodies were deposited at the morgue by the rescue team.
