
Anambra Govt Issues Letter Of Recognition To 34 Newly Elected Community Presidents-General
Tasks Them to Be Peace Ambassadors and Developmental Agents Of Their Communities
Having successfully Supervised and certified most of the communities elections held in some communities in the state between 26th December 2023 and 7th January 2024, the Anambra State Government, on Wednesday, 31st January, 2024, through the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Issued Letters of Recognition to 34 recently elected President Generals.

Addressing the new community leaders during the event which took place at SSG’s Hall, Government House, Awka, the Commissioner, Hon. Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, congratulated them, and reminded them of the need for them to use the opportunity given to them by people of their various communities, to bring lasting peace and development to their communities.

He highlighted some of the achievements and plans of the current state administration and urged them to key into the agenda of the administration to assist it realize its objectives.

It was noted that the current administration in the State has successfully conducted 138 Town Union Elections since assumption of office, bringing to an end the era of caretaker community leadership in most of the communities.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of the Certificate of Recognition to the Newly elected Presidents-General by the Commissioner, Hon. Nwabunwanne, assisted by Commissioner for Finance and SPAD Political, Hon Dr Alex Obiogbolu.
