The All Progressive Congress Senatorial candidate For Anambra Central, Dr Okelekwe Kodilichukwu on Tuesday, visited Awba-Ofemili in Awka North Local Government of Anambra State, to commiserate with the victims of the ravaging flood in the town, and donated the sum of N2.5million to the flood victims and awarded scholarship from primary to university education, to a primary 3 pupil that lost his father to the flood.
Ubom Nibo, after crossing two flooded rivers to arrive at Awba-Ofemili, was received by HRH Ezekwesili Maduagwuna, the Traditional Ruler of Awba-Ofemili and members of the Awba-Ofemili Community.
Dr Okelekwe described the disaster as devastating occasioned by climatic changes , lamenting its effect on the lives of people of the state, at the same time commended the efforts of the State Government in combating the flooding in the State, as well as providing quality rapid response to the downtrodden.
Dr Kodilichukwu Okelekwe said the donation was his token to support the Community and encourage the recovery of the affected Town.
In a Warm Appreciation, The Traditional Ruler of Awba-Ofemili on behalf of Awba-Ofemili Town thanked Dr Kodilichukwu Okelekwe for the show of love, care, and concern for Awba-Ofemili Community.
He described the visit as a great relief to the entire Community and more greater proof of the genuineness and kind-heartedness towards his people.
