The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has recognized Ozonkpu Victor Ike-Oye, as the authentic National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Oye was among the 18 party Chairmen who were invited to a stakeholders meeting with INEC at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
It would be recalled that Oye and two other persons were on Friday purportedly suspended by Chief Jude Okeke’s faction of APGA.
However the breakaway faction led by Chief Okeke was neither invited nor admitted at the meeting with the INEC Chairman, to discuss issues concerning the coming election in Anambra state as well as future electoral activities.
Speaking with News correspondents, Oye dismissed the Okeke faction as political buccaneers who were not financial members of the party.
He said that crisis is not peculiar to APGA, as it is in every political party, but that it seemed APGA’s case is becoming very notorious and needed to be checked.
He warned that the party would deal decisively with any member who engages in anti party activities, insisting that the actions of the splinter group were not capable of derailing their determination to retain Anambra Governorship come November 6.
Meanwhile, INEC has disclosed that 18 political parties would participate in the Anambra November 6 governorship poll.
