As the world prepares to celebrate Christmas, some well-meaning individuals have continued to speak on the essence of the season.
To this end, a former Chancellor of the Awka Catholic Diocese, Very Reverend Monsignor Prof. John Paul Nzomiwu, has urged Christians to demonstrate the message of love and peace to people during the Yuletide season through their actions.
Monsignor Nzomiwu in his Christmas message noted that since Christmas signifies love and peace, they should radiate love and share what they have with others.
The cleric recommended that people should do works of charity and help in being their brother’s keeper during the season, urging leaders to show love to those they are leading.
On her part, the Anambra State Chairperson, League of Women Voters, Dr. Mrs. Ego Uzoezie, advised that people should be responsive to the needs of others during the season.
In their own submissions, two Awka based medical experts, Dr. Cyprian Afunugo and Dr. Cliff Okafor stressed the need for the citizenry to continue to stick to all the COVID-19 protocols of wearing face masks, regular washing of hands etc, noting that taking COVID-19 vaccines does not guarantee one hundred per cent immunity from contracting the virus.
