An Old boy of the Holy Cross High School, Umuawulu-Mbaukwu, Barrister Chike Oranye, has called on Anambra state government to intensify government’s efforts towards improving facilities in the college to enhance teaching and learning.
Barrister Oranye who spoke on the educational status of the school decried the infrastructural decay in the college founded in 1958 and controlled by the Irish people.
According to the old boy of the college, the institution needs to be fenced, in addition to being connected to the national grid, as well as be provided with power generating set.
He commended the Old boys of the college for sinking a borehole, building dormitories, as well as the provision of books for the college library.
For the Union Secondary School at Umuawulu,
he expects the state government to intensify efforts towards infrastructural growth to complement the efforts of the Umuawulu community which ensured the fencing of the college, provision of electricity, and gate leading to it.
Barrister Oranye further commended the Anambra state government for the relocation of the NYSC permanent orientation camp from Umunya to Mbaukwu- Umuawulu.
He further urged the state government to reciprocate the support of the people by rehabilitating the HABA bridge in Umuawulu, and the Obizi bridge in Nibo.
