On Tuesday January 2nd 2024, Awgbu Community was agog with cerebrations as “Born for A Purpose Committee Of Friends”, an umbrella body of all O’level graduates of Community Secondary School Awgbu, Class Of 2006, came together for the first time, to cerebrate their 17th years of passing out from their Alma Mater.
The event held at compound of Mr. Obinna Okolo along Ugwu Community Hall, in Awgbu Orumba North Council Area Of Anambra State.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Onyebuchi Ezekwuka Ozor Bujaja thanked God for preserving their members 17 years after, blessing them in becoming successful in their respective fields of endeavours and exploit.
He observed that many of them if not all, are happily married with Children.
He revealed that the reasons behind coming together under the Umbrella, “Born for A Purpose Committee Of Friends “, was to champion a better Community Secondary School Awgbu, Awgbu Community, Anambra and a better Nigeria in general.
He thanked those who made the CSS Class of 2006 17th anniversary, colourful and amazing, urging others who may not have joined, to join them to birth a better society.
Earlier in an adress, the acting chairman of the group, Mr. Chisom Onwuchekwe said the group is on a purposeful, strategic mission to make their Alma Mater and entire Awgbu Community better than they met it.
According to the Acting Chairman of CSS Class of 2006, 17 years after secondary school, most of them are graduates, married with children, captains of numerous industries, health care professionals, Legal luminaries etc, urging their members sacrifice and channel their wealth of experiences into those projects and policies that will birth development of their mother land, Awgbu.
He thanked those he said made several, multi-dimensional sacrifices particularly financial donations to see that the event of the day was a successful one, praying God to richly reward all accordingly.
Chief Chijoke Obubaegbune donated the some of One Million naira, even as Mr. Chigbo Ezeani, Chukwuebuka Oraeki and host of others also donated huges amount of money to see the group bring to their reality all they have on the drawing board.
Other dignitaries in attendance were, Mrs. Ndidi Amaka Ezeani, Mrs. Chinenye Ezeakwuka, the mother of the day, Arc. Izuchukwu Nkwonta,Chioma Okoye and other members of the Association.
High points of the event included group photographs, group dance, merriment and donations that will be channeled towards their numerous maiden projects.
