The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said on Sunday, 16th August, 2020, Nigeria recorded 298 new cases of the novel COVID-19.
The figure took the total infection case in the country to 49,068.
NCDC observed that on Saturday, Nigeria recorded 325 cases, but yesterday, it reduced to 298.
The death rate also increased from 974 to 975.
According to the health agency, Lagos state recorded the third highest number with 47 new cases compared to saturday’s 87 numbers of cases which shows the numbers reduced massively yesterday.
Plateau state recorded the highest number with 108 new cases followed by Kaduna with 49 new cases.
The breakdown of the new 298 cases of COVID-19 recorded as stated by NCDC is as follows- :

Of the 49,068 confirmed cases so far recorded, 36,497 have been discharged, while 975 deaths were also recorded.
