The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya has assured Nigerians that the military is working on the multifaceted security challenges facing the country and matching them squarely. He made this known in Lagos when he unveiled the solar and electricity borehole and street lights built at the Isale Eko community by the Army corps of Engineers to enhance civil-military relations.

The COAS said that the Military is recording successes in cases of banditry and kidnappings in the North West, North East and North Central and also in the South East where they are confronting secessionist attacks. He said they are able to achieve such feat through the support of the presidency and the synergy between the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, other security agencies and stakeholders.

Concerning the projects that were commissioned, he said it became necessary to engage in such community development in order to provide succour to the community, especially where they have senior officers who have attained the rank of Major General through their dedication and commitment to the service.
