A Lagos High Court has restricted the planned nationwide protests on August 1st to Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota and Peace Park in Ketu.
The ruling, issued by Justice Emmanuel Ogundare yesterday, follows an application by Lagos State Attorney General, Lawal Pedro, who argued that limiting the protests to these locations is necessary to prevent potential violence and property destruction.
The order, which runs from August 1-10, was granted to safeguard public infrastructure and ensure adequate security amid concerns that the protests could be hijacked by disruptive elements.
