
The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, CP John Abang, yesterday, 7th October, 2020, summoned an emergency meeting with the Command Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) Special Anti-cult Section (SPACS) and other Tactical Commanders.
This was in line with the Inspector-General of police directives and commitment towards ongoing reforms of the Nigeria Police Force especially as it concerns activities of Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) and other Special Tactical units of the Force.
Speaking during the meeting which took place at the State Command headquarters, Awka, the Police Commissioner warned them to adhere strictly to the directives given by the Inspector-general of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, as regards the ongoing reform on FSARS and other Tactical units.
The CP also warned the officers to exhibit highest level of professionalism, civility and Respect for Human Rights when discharging their duties
He cautioned that any officer found wanting would be professionally and criminally liable for their actions.
The Anambra State Police Commissioner assured “Ndi Anambra” and residents alike that the Command under his watch, would continue to provide Safety and Security for all citizens with Civility and respect for Human Rights in accordance with Rule of law and inline with internationally acceptable best practises .
Furthermore, the CP equally directed the Command monitoring unit, X Squad, to go round the State and ensure strict compliance with the IGP’s order.
