CP Kuryas Decorates Newly Promoted Officers In Anambra State

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police , CP Bala Kuryas has said that efforts would be made to employ Alternative Dispute Resolution strategies and Community Policing Principles where applicable and germane to specific problems and issues.

Speaking at his first interactive session with Journalists at the state Headquarters Awka, he stated his awareness of challenges bordering on professional misconduct on the part of officers and men of the law such as extortion, unlawful detention and incivility to members of the public among others. To this effect, he urged all personnel of the Coand to eschew corrupt practices and indiscipline.

He also said that the Command will sustain the existing interagency collaboration and improve on their respect for the Rule of law and fundamental Human Rights in accordance with international best practices.

He assured Ndi Anambra that the Command under his watch will continue to work assiduously to sustain the status quo of Anambra as the safest state in the country.

He also called for the cooperation of well meaning members of the the public and religious leaders and community leaders to join hands in sustaining the safety and security of lives and property in the state.

He also solicited for the support and understanding of the members of the fourth estate of the realm,the media in the resolve of the Police Command to make Anambra state safer for all and sundry.

The CP encouraged members of the public to report any suspicious persons or movements to the nearest Police Station or through the command’s emergency number 112 or call 07039194332.

CP Monday Bala Kuryas is the 29th Commissioner of Police, Anambra state. He took over from the former commissioner, who is presently AIG John Abang.
