Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, has criticized former presidential candidate Peter Obi, calling him a “failed politician.”
The remark came after Obi, at a colloquium in Abuja, claimed that democracy in Nigeria had collapsed, citing setbacks since the country’s return to civilian rule in 1999.
Bwala took to social media, questioning Obi’s understanding of democracy, recalling that while pro-democracy activists fought military regimes, Obi was engaged in business. Bwala also accused Obi of promoting hate speech and lacking a history of democratic activism.
The exchange is a sign of growing tensions in Nigeria’s political landscape.
