Former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai has disclosed that he left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with the full knowledge and consent of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kpakpando had reported that El-Rufai announced his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Monday.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa service on Wednesday, he revealed that he consulted Buhari before making the move, emphasising that he regularly sought the former president’s counsel on political matters.
