Environment Ministry rewards sanitation compliant-persons, Share gift items

Anambra State Ministry of Environment has improved on its supervision engagements of the environment by specially monitoring last month’s sanitation exercise following the EndSARS protest and subsequent unrest across the country that left facilities destroyed.

Mr Obi Nwankwo, Commissioner for Environment, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Okafor urged Ndi Anambra to join hands with the Government in cleaning the entire state as it is our state, while emphasizing on the need to keep it clean and safe thereby helping the Government in her quest for a clean environment.

Mr Nwankwo also posited that Ministry’s contractors and all zonal supervisors has been asked to ensure that burnt tyres, road blocks/barricades were cleared immediately to ease movement of people and vehicles.

He pointed out the need for people to stay home and observe the three hours clean-up exercise held on every last Saturday of the month to avoid being arraigned.

The high point of the exercise was the reward of Those who worked with face caps and T-shirts, while fliers were given out to members of the public to further inform on the need to improve our environment.

In her remarks,
Mrs Gloria Nwaokpu, a trader at Aroma Junction commended the efforts of the state government, and thanked the Ministry of Environment for the free t-shirts and caps shared to the public in other to encourage compliance.
