Fatal Road Crash At Onitsha-Nteje Express Way On Sunday 16th April, 2023 Claims One Life
A fatal road traffic crash which occurred on Sunday afternoon, 16th April, 2023, before Ukpo Junction, along Onitsha- Nteje- Awka Express way, claimed at least One life.
The crash was between Commercial Howo truck (10 TYRES) with Registration. Number: JUX 95 XA, and a Private Honda CRV with Vehicle Registration Number: LFA 224 TN.

A release by the Acting Sector Public Education Officer, RC Margaret Onabe, said the probable cause of the fatal road traffic crash was Speed, and loss of control by the Truck driver.
According to eyewitness, the driver of the CRV was about entering Ukpo junction, while the truck was coming out with speed from Ukpo junction. The driver of the truck then lost control of the vehicle, fell on the CRV and crashed.
Five persons were reportedly involved in the crash comprising (5 male adults) 4 male adults sustained varying degrees of injury, while 1 male adult was killed, that was the driver of the CRV.
The release informed that the crash victims were rushed to Chukwu Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka.
Reacting to the incident, Anambra State FRSC Sector Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi, commiserated with the family of the dead victim, and prayed for quick recovery for the injured persons.
He, again, warned motorists to desist from excessive speed and ensure their vehicles are road Worthy before plying the road.
