Some properties have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at a one-story building on Atani Road by Uga Junction in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State. The fire, which started in the early hours of Friday, has yet to have its cause determined.
An eyewitness reported that the fire began in a section of the top floor before the state fire service arrived and managed to contain it, preventing further damage to surrounding structures.
Confirming the incident, the state Fire Service Chief, Chukwudi Chiketa, said firefighters were promptly deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5:17 AM. The team arrived with a fire truck and successfully controlled the blaze. Although the top floor of the building was affected, many other properties within the premises were saved.
