A judicial panel of Inquiry to investigate the activities of the defunct Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Anambra state has been inaugurated.
The inauguration , of the panel , which was done by Governor Willie Obiano, took place at the Executive Chambers of Government House , Awka , yesterday.
According to report, the inauguration was based on the Governor’s promise to the ENDSARS protesters last week Thursday.
The panel is headed by Retired Justice Vivian Umeh with members of the pan as Barrister Uju Nwogu, Professor Theresa Obiekezie, Mr Mark Okoye, Dr Bonaventure Enemali, AVM Retired Ben Chiobi.
The panel also has Bishop Johnson Ekwe , Rev .Fr. Kenneth Oraehbunam and Rev John Ndubuisi representing Anglican, Catholic and Anambra state CAN respectively.
Other members of the panel include Prince Chris Azor representing Anambra Civil Society Network, Mr Joseph Ekwunife, representing PF , Igwe Nnamdi Oruchi representing the Traditional Rulers , representatives from Women lawyers, NUAS, the three Senatorial zones, NYSC and Civil Liberties Organization.
