Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has announced that the state civil servants will receive 15,000 naira as Christmas gift and also a 10 percent wage increment , with effect from January 2023.
He said this during the Public Service Day celebration which was held at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat in Awka on Tuesday.
Governor Soludo appreciated the civil servants for turning out en masse to vote for him during the last election and also for labour and support.
He said that his administration will continue to push its five pillars of development , while also highlighting some of the achievements that have been recorded in various sectors by his government. He also assured the workers that security, law and order will return to the state.
Speaking at the event, the State Head of Service, Theodora Igwegbe pointed to the achievements of the present administration, the challenges civil servants face and public service reform to improve productivity and hasten service delivery time.
Governor Soludo has approved the training of Anambra civil servants on Information and Communication Technology to enable public service in Anambra State to become technology driven.
HIghlights of the event were presentation of certificates to some public servants, cutting of cake among others.
