Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has directed all hospitals in the state to create Isolation rooms.

Governor Obiano gave the directive in a broadcast to the people of the state on Monday evening, following the death of a 64-year-old COVID-19 patient in the state.
He pointed out that there was a possibility that his case would have been managed well if he had alerted the team on time, and warned that people who hide their medical conditions run the risk of dying from Coronavirus.
Governor Obiano also regretted that some health workers turn automatically hostile to patients who they suspect have COVID -19 symptoms, warning that such attitude is not acceptable in the State as it might discourage such patients from seeking medical attention in hospital
The governor further revealed that out of the tests conducted so far in the State, nine COVID 19 cases have been recorded attributing it to the Aggressive Case Search mounted by the special Task Force on Covid-19 which he heads.
He further revealed that following the success of the Task Force at state level, government has extended activities to the 326 wards in Anambra State for more aggressive campaign against the pandemic.
Governor Obiano disclosed that government has also decided to set up a Case Medication Team made up of seasoned medical practitioners and public health officers who will deliberate and decide the best medical approaches to adopt on a case-by-case bases.
