Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating crime, following a major security operation by the newly launched task force, Operation Udo Ga Achi.

During a raid in Owerre-Ezukala, Orumba South LGA, security forces neutralized 15 suspected criminals and captured 13 others alive.

The operation comes amid the tragic murder of state lawmaker, Hon. Justice Azuka, whose body was discovered at the Second Niger Bridge, Onitsha. Governor Soludo confirmed that six suspects have been arrested, and efforts are underway to track a native doctor in Asaba, alleged to be aiding criminals.

Despite the success of the operation, controversy has emerged over reports that three construction workers from Isuofia were mistakenly killed during the raid. A viral video shows angry women protesting with the corpses, blocking a road near a Catholic Church.

As of the time of filling this report, Governor Soludo has yet to officially comment on the incident, but sources indicate that an investigation is ongoing to verify the claims.
