Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday, was at the meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) with regards to the political crises in Guinea and Mali.
The meeting took place in Accra, Ghana.
In a statement through his Spokesperson, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo said that the meeting will assess previous resolutions and further review the political situation in the Republics of Guinea and Mali.
Professor Osinbajo was joined by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada.
Recall that in September, Guinea’s President Alpha Conde was ousted from office by military forces led by Mamady Doumbouya.
In Mali as well, the August 2020 coup that removed President Ibrahim Keita has kept a transitional leader in place since September 15.
Prof. Osinbajo had earlier participated at the 2nd ECOWAS Extraordinary Summit on 16th September in Ghana.
