Gunmen on Wednesday attacked the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja, Kogi State, carting away office equipment.
According to the report, the gunmmen arrived in three vehicles and harassed health workers in the facility.
The hospital had scheduled a media briefing for the day to demand a COVID-19 screening centre in the state and to also speak about the challenges health workers are facing with regard to the disease.
The hoodlums made away with Items such as personal computers, while phones of staff members were seized.
The hospital is said to be in a dispute with the state government over the latter’s insistence that coronavirus is a hoax.
