
Honourable Innocent Chibuife of Amata Isiagu, in Awka South Council Area, over the weekend, distributed some Palliatives to some indegent persons in the community.
Beneficiaries of the humanitarian gestures inclued both indigene and non indegines widows and less privileged.
Speaking on the occasion, Honourable Chibuife said the aim was to cushion the effects of the lockdown as part of measures check the spread of Coronavirus in the State.
He noted that during the lockdown, there were restrictions of movements causing most people to stay at home to stay safe, which seriously affected those indegent persons who could not go out to buy or sell, thereby finding themselves in very hopeless and helpless situation.
Honourable Chibuife noted that the restrictions was not to punish anybody, but to him the restrictions is not out of hatred but preventìve measures to save the citizens from contracting the deadly disease.
He further commended the Governor Willie Obiano for his relentless efforts in fighting Coronavirus and commended otheer philanthropists including the Igwe elect of Isiagu, Chief Gilbert Okoye for providing for the needy and the less privileged in the society, urging other affluent to emulate the gesture.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the press expressed their joy and thanked the donor for His benevolence.
Among the dignataries that graced the occasion was the APGA Party Chairman in Awka South, Honourable Chikodili Oyalu. .
