The House of Representatives has passed a resolution to summon President Buhari.
The House of Representatives took the decision at yesterday’s plenary after a motion was moved by members from Borno state on the weekend massacre of some rice farmers in the state by Boko Haram insurgents.
However, the house became rowdy after the speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila said that it won’t be appropriate to invite the president to make open the actions taken towards handling the security situation in the country.
The rowdiness made the house to go into an executive session which was held behind closed doors.
Resuming the sitting after the executive session, Representative Ahmed Jaha from Borno state moved an amendment to invite the President to talk on the security situation in the country. The amendment was seconded and unanimously adopted.
A date is yet to be fixed for the invitation.
