Imo State Police Arrests Evangelist for Using Church as Baby Factory

The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 47-year-old woman, Evangelist Ugochi Orisakwe, and four others, for allegedly using a church premises for baby factory.

The suspects, Chidi Orisakwe aged 34, Pauline Nwabunwanne, 42, Elizabeth Uzoma, 61, and Chibueze Joy, aged 31 all apprehended within a popular Church Compound for involvement in activities likened to a baby factory.

A release issued by the Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Micheal Abattam, confirmed the arrest, saying that acting on credible information of a missing 18 year-old girl, the command swung into action which led to the discovery of the baby factory and subsequent arrest of Evangelist Ugochi Orisakwe and her collaborators.

The Imo State Police Commissioner, CP Rabiu Hussaini, commended the efforts of the tactical team that went for the operation, advising members of the public to be weary of Churches located in isolated places so as not to get implicated in cases of crime.

According to the Police Commissioner, suspects would be charged to court after investigations.
