Imo state is set to receive 120 million dollars from the federal government to support the state government’s livestock programme.
The state governor, Hope Uzodinma disclosed this on Friday during a broadcast to mark the nation’s 61st Independence Anniversary in Owerri, the state capital.
Noting the funds was as a result of Imo state being one of the seven states to benefit from the Federal Government’s 850 million dollars for the Special Agric Processing Zone Project, he added that the Federal Government has also listed Imo as one of the states to benefit from a 1.4 billion dollar facility secured from the World Bank for urban and rural water development.
Speaking further, he declared that relative peace had been recorded in the South-Eastern state under his administration commending President Buhari and security agencies for their support in tackling criminality in the state.
