The minister of labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, on Tuesday, presented certificates of registration to two university-based unions.
The certificates were presented to factions of the Academic Staff Union of Universities known as the Congress of Nigerian University Academics CONUA and the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics.
According to Ngige, both unions would exist alongside ASUU in the tertiary education system.
Many Nigerians have been reacting to the development since the news broke yesterday. A user on Twitter opined that government is just creating a future problem as tomorrow these groups will still go on strike and it will then be three unions going on strike.
