The operational licenses of all private schools in Kano State have been revoked by the government. This decision was made during a meeting with private school owners on Saturday. Special Adviser to the governor on Private and Voluntary Institutions, Alhaji Baba Umar, disclosed that government has initiated a process to issue new certificates and all private schools must fill out new registration forms immediately. He said the aim is to ensure that private schools follow the state’s laws and regulations.
Alhaji Umar also emphasized the importance of adhering to rules and paying the 10% tax. He assured fairness in overseeing private school activities and stressed the need for proper facilities, curriculum, and schedules.
The Chairman of the National Association of Private Schools Owners in Kano State, Alhaji Muhammad Adamu, praised the government’s involvement and urged private school owners to collaborate for the benefit of all stakeholders. Additionally, a new software for data collection and registration forms for new school entries were introduced during the meeting.
