Konti FC  Umunnachi Beat Ogene FC Obeledu  2 – 1 In Friendly Match At Obeledu

The much anticipated match between Konti Football Club, Umunnachi and Ogene Football Club, Obeledu, ended 2 – 1 in favour of the Konti FC.

The game held at St. Paul’s Stadium, Obeledu, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State saw the Governor’s Cup Champions, the Konti FC defeat their host, the Ogene FC with two goal to nothing, within first thirty minutes of the first half.

Ogene FC made spirited efforts to equalize the goals, but ended scoring one within the first thirty minutes of the second half of the match.

Captains of the teams, Onyeka Chidi of Konti FC and Nnamdi Obidigbo of Ogene FC said team spirit enabled them achieve results in the fiercely contested challenge match, commending officials for being fair to both sides of the game.

The founder of Konti FC and Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Engineer Emeka Okonkwo, and his Ogene FC counterpart, Honourable Ikeobi Ejiofior, said the challenge match is, among other things, aimed at exposing and harnessing youths potential in football sports activities.

Member representing Anaocha Two Constituency in the State Assembly, Honourable Ejike Okechukwu, Anaocha Local Government APGA Chairman, Barrister Ndubisi Obiadi, were among spectators at the event.

A return match between the teams is scheduled for a later date.
