Man To Die By Hanging For Killing Wife In Jigawa
A Jigawa State High Court sitting in Dutse has sentenced a man, Shu’aibu Adamu, to death by hanging for killing his wife.
The Court found the accused person, 28-year-old Shuaibu, guilty of the offence, which is punishable with death.
The presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Ahmed Muhammad Abubakar said the offence of culpable homicide is punishable under Section 221(b) of the Penal Code.
In his Judgement, Justice Ahmed said the prosecution counsel proved his case beyond reasonable doubt after presenting four witnesses.
The prosecution counsel had told the court that the incident happened at Warwade town, Dutse Local government Area of Jigawa State on 24th June, 2018 when the convict had a misunderstanding with his 20-year-old wife, Sahura Umar, of the same town.
The misunderstanding caused the convict to use his hoe to hit her on the head, leading to her death.
