Mbaukwu Peace Coordinators MPC24, under the leadership of Barr. Chike Onyali, today Sunday 6th, January 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu Community, His Majesty Igwe P.N Anugwu, Eze Ka Eze Ka Eze at his Palace in Obuofia, Namkpu Village Mbaukwu Awka South Council Area Of Anambra State.
The visit, Kpakpando understands is to formally introduce themselves to the Monarch and brief him on journey so far regarding the “Four Point Agenda”, Constitutional Amendment, Sharing Formula and One Additional Village Proposed For Namkpu Village.
Recall that the community in a general assembly meeting earlier in the year, had adopted a “four point agenda” as proposed by the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, believed will solve all lingering, legal tussles between Namkpu Village and Mbaukwu Progressive Union.
Sequel to that, “Peace Coordinators” drawn from all the villages in Mbaukwu were appointed. They have been inaugurated by Dr. Ibezim on Friday 5th January 2024 at the Conference Room of the state’s number two citizen.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairman of Mbaukwu Peace Coordinators, Barr. Chike Onyali, Ichie Mezuo Okoye explained that they visited the Monarch to officially familiarize with him and also intimate him of the four point agenda drafted and adopted by Mbaukwu General Assembly to solve all lingering issues in Mbaukwu Progressive Union Politics and the journey so far to legally fine-tune all that have been drafted, as endorsed and adopted by the whole community.
Chief Mezue also revealed that they came to get “blessings of the Monarch” as they embark on the onerous task of giving Mbaukwu community, a constitution that will sprout long-lasting peace and perish any craving for another constitution, at least in the nearest future.
Responding, the Custodian of Mbaukwu Culture and traditions, His Majesty Igwe P.N Anugwu thanked the group for the visit. He congratulated them for the trust and confidence the state government and people of Mbaukwu placed on them hence the appointment.
He commended the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim for what he described as multi-dimensional commitments to birth sustainable peace in Mbaukwu.
He revealed to the Coordinators that he gets periodic updates from Mr. Deputy Governor on his efforts to get all these implemented, affirming that Mr. Deputy Governor is on the right track and it is yielding desired results
