Lionel Messi has scored his first Paris St-Germain goal in an outstanding fashion as they beat Manchester City in an exhilarating Champions League group game.
It was Messi’s fourth appearance for PSG since leaving Barcelona.
The goal elicited a deafening roar from the Parc des Princes crowd as the Argentine, on his return from injury, added one PSG goal to the 672 he managed for Barca.
The first three games of Messi’s spell at PSG – which has been interrupted by injury and fitness issues – had failed to set the world alight as there were no goals nor assists.
However, last night changed all as he delivered a nice shot to make it his seventh goal in five Champions League games against teams managed by Pep Guardiola -who is his former Barcelona boss – and his seventh goal against City.
