
Modern Traditional Medicine Practitioner Of Nigeria (MTMPN), Anambra Chapter has inaugurated different executive committees in all the 21 local government areas of the state.
The inauguration, which took place at Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, was attended by members of the association across Anambra State.
According to our reporter, Linda Chukwu, the inauguration was officially opened by Mr President Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Nakowa Dada, through his Personal Assistant Adamu Shaba Abubakar.
In his speech, the National President of the association, Chief Christian Anakwe said, the aim and view
of the new apex body of traditional medicine practitioners became a necessity following the continuous crisis that bedeviled its defunct association. He also said that the inauguration will not allow the traditional medicine to perish and it will help the people to live longer as the forefathers did because traditional medicine is the first medicine of the people.
Also Speaking, the National Vice President, South East of the association, Chief Hyacinth Ezeugo expressed their readiness to work with the new local government executives, noting that the federal government has shown willingness to collaborate with traditional medicine practitioners in the country to promote the country’s health sector.
The Chairman, Taskforce of MTMPN, Ambassador Dr John Mary Ibeka said the association has supported the development of traditional medicines and policies for their efficiency, supporting the traditional medicine to move forward especially in 21 local govt areas of Anambra state.
On his part the MTMPN chairman Awka south local government, Mr Vincent Okonkwo said the inauguration will help the movement of the working body across the Local governments.

Orumba North chairman,Mr Gerald Okpaka explained that there is a great advantage in studying situational analysis of traditional medicine in Nigeria.
On his remarks,the secretary to the Anambra State Chieftancy and Igwes in council and also the chairman of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, (POCACOV), Prince Donatus Orjika, adviced the executives to be united and work together.
In his speech, the Anambra State secretary of MTMPN, Mr Patrick Ifeonu lauded the association for the bold step in inaugurating new functional executives and also prayed for the soul of the late chief Dr Ignatius Nwachukwu who was the National Deputy president of MTMPN and also the vice president of MTMPM Anambra State chapter.
